Josh Curtis has been mixing cocktails in Los Angeles since 1998. From waiting tables at West Hollywood's Pane e Vino and the Manhattan Won Ton Company in Beverly Hills, Josh became acquainted with people in the entertainment business. One day while the bartender was away, guests began directing Josh to mix up drinks the way they liked them. First it was a Martini, then an Old Fashioned, a Perfect Manhattan, and so on. He happened to be good at following instructions, so they liked his concoctions. Before long, he landed a job as bartender at Vida in Los Feliz. At the Hungry Cat in Hollywood 2005, he learned what it meant to drive a beverage program by creating his own cocktails from utilizing a Champion juicer directed by Chef. After managing his own extensive nightclub programs at Guys & Dolls and Supperclub Hollywood, he dialed his skills with Vincenzo Marianella at Copa d'Oro in Santa Monica and learned how to standardize drink recipes into specific templates. He then encountered a great opportunity when Tricia Carr connected him to Shutters on the Beach for Wednesday's Boite event. Josh is currently the Bar Director for Gregory Day at Carbon Beach Club in the luxurious Leading Hotels of the World property Malibu Beach Inn. Josh's drink recipe book, Malibu Beach Cocktails will publish March 2020.
